Software Engineer
NanoInk, Inc. is a Skokie, IL-based, private emerging growth company commercializing the Dip Pen Nanolithography® (DPN®) method of nano scale manufacturing. DPN is a patented process used to build nanometer scale structures and patterns by literally drawing materials directly onto a surface. DPN users can build at resolutions ranging from many micrometers down to 15 nanometers, using virtually any material. This combination of ultrahigh resolution and material flexibility makes for numerous commercial applications in the semiconductor and life science industries.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software for NanoInk instrumentation systems. Systems involve pc based control of nanometer scale deposition instrumentation, including atomic force microscopes (AFMs).
- Design and development of user interface and instrument control components.
- Develop requirements and specifications for new software systems and features.
- Complete software lifecycle involvement including design, documentation, module testing and iterative development cycles.
- Incorporate new technological process capabilities through disciplined and creative software development.
Skills:
- Two or more years experience with .Net, Visual Basic, Visual C++ and C#.
- Software design experience in a quality driven environment and knowledge of methodologies such as UML.
- Working knowledge of Linux based systems, a plus.
- Experience with embedded systems, a definite plus.
- Highly skilled in problem analysis and troubleshooting.
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering or related field.
- Two or more years Software Engineering experience in a technology based environment.
- Desire to work in fast-moving, entrepreneurial climate.
Candidate should be authorized to work in the United States.
